A miniature 3D space game with realistic orbital physics, where you learn to fly and help make some deliveries.

If you like games like KSP (or find KSP too difficult but still like the idea of space flight) give this a try! Comment here, or add me on discord if you have questions or feedback. (Oarc#8695)

CONTROLS:

  • Ship Controls
    • Space bar for thrust
    • Mouse controls (easier):
      • Left click and drag to orient ship
    • Keyboard controls (more advanced, KSP-like navball):
      • WASD to control ship direction
      • QE for roll
    • Press R to toggle between cardinal and orbital controls.
      • Cardinal (north/south/east/west) is useful when you're taking off from a planet. Orbital is useful most of the other times you are flying.
    • Click on the UI buttons to lock on to a particular orbital vector (see images). Press ESC to view the legend in the pause menu to understand what the icons mean.

  • General Controls
    • Enter key to enter/exit ship and other context actions (delivery packages by hand, interact with people, etc.)
    • Camera Controls
      • Hold Right Button + Mouse Move to rotate camera
      • Scroll wheel for zoom
      • H to focus the camera back on your ship
    • Target Controls
      • Shift + Left Button to select target
        • Select planets/objects to provide a target icon.
        • Select anywhere to clear.
      • Alt + Left Button to change camera target
  • Package Launching (when you're in the ship)
    • TAB switches to turret camera for launching packages
      • Press and hold left mouse to launch packages
      • ESC returns from package camera to ship camera OR takes you to the pause menu.
  • Maneuver Node Creation
    • First, pause the game (click the pause UI button at the top of the screen).
    • Then hover the mouse over any of the ship's predicted path lines to place a maneuver node.
    • Click on the icon to edit the maneuver node.

Steam Deck Support

I added Steam Deck "support" for fun for myself. In the process, I was able to map most of the controls to a standard gamepad. There are still a lot of features in the game that require a mouse to click on UI elements, so you can't just play with only a gamepad, but it does make controlling the ship a bit more fun!

The Steam Deck lets you easily use one of the track pads as a mouse. I used the standard layout "Gamepad with Mouse Trackpad" and set the trackpad click to left mouse click.

  • Gamepad Controls List:
    • A - Interact / Enter Ship / Exit Ship / Advance Dialog
    • X - Package Launcher Turret Camera
    • B - Fire Package
    • Start - Pause Menu
    • Right Trigger - Thrust
    • Left Trigger - Toggle Cardinal-Orbital Controls
    • Left/Right Shoulders - Face Normal/Anti-Normal or Rotate Ship (QE equivalent)
    • Left Joystick - Walk / Orient Ship
    • Right Joystick - Rotate Camera
    • Right Joystick Click - Focus On Ship
    • D-Pad North/South - Camera Zoom
    • D-Pad East/West - Modifier Keys (selecting targets / changing camera target / maneuver node editing modifiers)

Really fun game! I think the only feature that might help with transfers is changing the time when you make a maneuver, so having a +1 & -1 second button along with the other buttons (playing KSP certainly helped too)

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it and that's definitely a good suggestion.

I had fun trying (and failing) to not crash my ship! I love the look of this world, it drew me in. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for trying it out! Feel free to suggest ideas for future games, I'm thinking about trying something similar but with more fleshed out content and a progression system.

This is a great game, landing makes me giggle 99.9% of the time, just seeing a space shuttle flop in front of somebody's house.

Awesome, found it hard to control but thats not suprising since I haven't played KSP or any game similar before, seems like it could be a good "chill out" game once you master the controls!

I'm not sure audio is working for me, some good soundtracks would increase playtime for sure :D

Thank you for the comment, yep there is almost no audio right now other than a couple of sound effects for testing. I'm waiting on someone right now to send me some music. I'm hoping that happens soon so I can put it in the game! Audio is one of the things I'll be working on next now that I have all the functional pieces done.

I love the concept, the movement is quite hard (maybe I’m just a bad driver), but it’s smooth, and the environment of the planets is pretty cool. The UI is nice as well. Pretty good game :)

Thanks for the feedback! Yep, flying a space ship is pretty tricky in 3D. I'm still trying to improve the tutorial and the controls so let me know if you have specific questions or difficulties you encountered.

i'd say a better rendezvous tutorial would be greatly appreciated, as with the station i probably spent around 30 minutes just trying to  get a proper orbit that's close enough to the station for me to interact

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah that's one of the most difficult maneuvers in any space sim game. One of my TODOs is to add more embedded tutorial videos, and possibly break down the rendezvous mission into more steps to help guide new players. Let me know if there were specific questions or problems you had when trying it out, and I'm glad you stuck with it so long, thanks for giving it a good try!

not really, just finding the proper orbit and using the timewarp feature

Got it, yeah I'll add some more tutorial videos and steps to assist with that. Thanks!

Wonderful game, I love the idea of a space mail company.

Thanks so much for trying it! Let me know if you ran into any issues or have any feedback.

Great game! I love the attention to detail in the controls and Ui.
